I had a good laugh tonight!
My dog is a Shorkie (Yorkshire Terrier Shih Tzu cross breed). She is very loveable and 8 pounds fully grown. My problem with Princess is she is a lap dog who loves to snuggle and as soon as my dinner plate is put aside she walks across my lap for cuddling and attention.

Normally not a problem, but I'm currently fighting a flare and each time she walks over me her feet are like tiny daggers piercing my gut!:(

Tonight I had major gas & bloating and some tummy pain. As Princess hopped onto the sofa next to me I looked at her and said, "You had better not step on my stomach Princess!" Princess looked at me, walked down my leg which was resting on the ottoman, crossed the length of the ottoman and hopped back onto the sofa landing on my opposite side and proceeded to lie down between my husband and I for a much deserved belly rub!

Amazing that a dog could be more sensitive to my condition then some of my human contacts are! :)

My dogs thoughtlessly step on my bare feet, trip me from behind and painfully leap off my lap.

My dogs similar too big to be a lap dog the big fatty but she knows when im not well I sometimes thinks shes the only one who believes me lol. She comes to bed with me every night I feel unwell she usually sleeps with my parents but she knows shell squeeze herself on a single seat chair/recliner with me if she thinks I need some affection.

Dunno how id cope without that girl by my side :)

Unfortunately my 6 stone labrador thinks he is a lap dog too!! Nah my dog knows when I'm in pain. One afternoon I was having really severe pain and couldn't leave the bathroom and he actually came up and gave me a hug. It was so bizarre for a dog that is normally so scatty, he was freaking out that I was upset.

My mum and dads beagle however, is not so sensitive. One day I was sitting in my parents house and I was having horrific pain in my tummy and as a wave of pain came on he literally jumped right onto the sore spot and I have never forgotten the pain that shot through my body that moment!!

I guess it was the tone of your voice. I agree some people can't be very understanding. One person told me that if I drink milk it would help...where did they get that idea?
