This is what my elder son, Scott, is doing this year as a way of helping to find a cure for crohns and colitis. He adores his little brother Josh, and I know he feels helpless at times with living so far away. I am so very proud of him.
This is what he has put on his Face book page.
As some of you may know my little brother Josh has Crohn's. This is a disease that affects the digestive system and bowel causing problems including abdominal pain, cramping, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and not surprisingly, weight loss and lack of energy. This is an incurable disease at the moment, but I would like to help change that.
This year I am competing in three triathlons. The Woodstock Sprint triathlon on May 26th, the Toronto Triathlon Festival Olympic distance on July 27th, and the Wasaga Beach Olympic distance on September 7. I would like to use the events to raise money for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada to support their ongoing work to assist those with the disease and search for treatments and possibly a cure for this disease.
