Hi Rich, and welcome. I haven't had that specific surgery, but I would think you will want to consider taking a couple of months off to recover. Good luck!

Hi Rich. I too am new to this forum and this is my first post! I've just had a bowel resection in March. It's my second one. The first resection was in 1988 and boy times have changed!! I was left with a 10inch incision and spent months recovering the first time. This time I've recovered from the op pretty quickly. Mine was laparoscopic and i have just a small scar through my belly button. Although I'm still not 100% (i don't know that I ever will be!) I was back at work after 6 weeks. Considering I work in a pre-school which is pretty full on, I've felt fine. I still find I get tired sometimes and have to rest more often, but it's just a case of listening to your body. It's definitely been worth having it done!

this may sound strange but why did you start 2 threads with the same story? it may be a better idea to carry on witht the first story. that way you wont confuse people.
