Hello,
Let me start by saying it is Awesome to have a place to go were people understand what your dealing with! I am 46and have been dealing with this since I was 18 Thing really got worse when I went to the ER in September for pain in my lower right quad, I thought it was my appendix but the told me it could be a twisted bowel and I needed surgery. Well that was the worst week in the hospital I ever had. The surgeon told me he removed some scar tissue and saw some swelling and thought it could be IBD. The strange thing was I started having new symptoms. So I started my own research on the internet and everything pointed to CD. I guess I was lucky I got a diagnosis so soon because the not knowing was driving me crazy. I also suffer from degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis and carpal tunnel syndrome.

I am a family man I have a wife and 11 children 3 of them are living with us the others live with there natural father and my two daughters are in their twenties. I am into nature walks, riding bikes, art, computer graphics, and raising my three young boys.

Welcome. I know that it is better to have an answer then feel like you are just crazy:) I cried when my doctor told me...he thought I was overwhelmed...I was relieved to have a name. Thankfully I only have my crohns to fight with, it sounds like you have more of a battle then I do, but I am happy to see that you stay active because I do think that makes a difference. I have not been on the forum long, but I find it comforting to see others have been there and most importantly we are not alone:)

Welcome :bigwave: Sounds like you have plenty to keep you busy :) I agree that it is good that you are staying active as every little thing helps. How are things now for you symptom wise?

Symptoms are not too bad lately mostly pains hear and there, flat stools I don't get the diarrhea as of yet before the surgery I battled constipation but luckily that's gone for now ,and a bit of distention and acid reflux. I also gained 20 lbs from Sept. till now so I'm looking into a exercise bike my Dr. recommended as I don't get to ride as often as I would like to. I am still waiting to see what medication my insurance is going to pay for as well.

Glad to hear things are not horrendous but obviously could be better. How long have you been waiting on the insurance company? I have no experience with this so have no idea how long these things can take, are the docs really unable to give you a thing until they approve it?

they sent the scrip on the 21st of Dec. They don't want to give me samples because they are not sure which meds I will end up with. Monday I have to call Dr.s office back if the pharmacy has not gotten it yet. They told me It takes two weeks sometimes. What worries me lately is I am having some pain in the same area I had before surgery but it comes and goes it's not constant like it was before.

When you speak to the docs tomorrow let them know about the pain. Be very firm and say you want them to sort something like NOW, these pains surely mean something and wouldn't it make sense for once for the treatment to start BEORE things get bad?? Will keep my fingers crossed and let us know how you get on.
