I am hoping that by reaching out to you guys I may get some insight into investigation / treatment options.
Mid-30s
Male
Reasonably Healthy (except the constant pain!)
Background
I have suffered from acid reflux for ~10yrs. Eventually I got round to discussing with a dietician. I now control the pain almost 100% effectively through sensible diet (which broadly means vegatables, fruit and nothing "interesting" at 6pm_i.e. no meat/wheat/cakes/cream)
Crohns
For the last 2yrs I have suffered from on/off abdominal pain which has moved around my lower abdomen. Attacks tended to last ~8weeks and clear up for ~12weeks and then back again. The attacks were purely pain and were not accompanied by diarrhea. They were not crippling but were annoying.
Then since January 2009, I have had almost constant pain in central lower abdomen. Doctors have done tests to rule out bladder issues. Colonoscopy was clear on colon but showed some inflamation of "terminal illeum". Test were no positive for Chrons but did not rule it out. I have been on strict diet recording plans and have not seen any specific foods which make is better (but spicy/rich foods do seem to make it worse).
I have tried low dosage on Pentasa (500mg 3 times per day) - no obvious improvement
I would be pleased to hear from others with similar situation and benefit from their experiences.
Illeum "scan" in the next few weeks.
Could well be stress related? Do I do straight for medication?
