Hi. My name is Alyssa. I was diagnosed with crohns two or three years ago. Its tough for me, i'm already very self concious, but with crohns delaying puberty, it really sucks for me ! All my friends hit puberty long ago and started their period in elementary school. They're all B's and higher, and i'm a flat A. ): I guess I just want support and also someone to answer questions.
My first one, I'm on growth hormone, and I've grown more then I have in the last three years already, but I wanted to know if it can help in the puberty areas ? Like can it make my boobs bigger ? Thanks all.

How old are you now?

In regards to your Crohns and puberty, are you in remission? Chronic inflammation will certainly delay puberty but if you are in remission then the onset of puberty should progress and as to whether the CD will have a permanent effect on your height is different for everyone. I am assuming the doctors feel that it has hence the growth hormones. There are also many variables beyond Crohns that dictate your body size and shape and this also relates to your breast size. You have to look to your genetics to gauge some idea as to how you may end up looking.

I don't think growth hormone alone will have any effect on your breast size. The sex hormones will have more of an impact on your breasts developing and dictating when you will start to menstruate (periods).

Hi there, welcome to the forum! I know you are self conscience but even healthy young girls have different growing spurts. Keeping your nutrition up is very important. Having Ensure plus a couple of times a day will help you get the proper nutrients you could be lacking. Dont worry you will be ok. Having a beautiful smile and brains is far more important!!! :hang:
