Hello.....My name is Tammy, and I was diagnosed with Crohn's in 1998. I suffered with severe diarrhea and cramps for months before they could make the decision that it was Crohn's. I was 5'7" and weighed close to 107. Everything I attempted to eat would cause to much pain to be worth it. I also had numerous skin sores at that time which the Dr determined was related to my CD. I was put on Prednisone and Asacol and cleared up relatively quickly.
Forward to my pregnancy of my daughter in 2001. I flared up big time around 6 months into my pregnancy. Again, prednisone was given and remission came soon after.
Since that episode all was quiet, and I had a few years when I felt I was "cured". Not so much......:yfaint:
I recently have flared up the past two months and just had another colonoscopy last week. This time the ulcers and inflammation where restricted to my large intestine and my terminal ileum was clear. I begged my new GI to give the Asacol a chance first before giving me steroids. However, I am not feeling any better. In fact now I 'm having new symptoms of a sore tongue and both corners of my mouth are split and painful.
Next step....Call and make a f/u appt. I'm interested in learning new things and experiences with this exhausting disease on this forum.
Thanks for stopping by!!!!
