I started having problems back in 2000 and I went through tons of testing and they found I had colititis, then within the last year I was dignosed with crohns after ending up in the hospital for 5 days. I have been seeing a new GI doctor who has tried a ton of differant drugs and I just got done trying the liquid gold Humara with no luck so were going to try a new set of drugs.
I have constant pain and loose stools aand it really is starting to effect my job, and my personal life. I asked my GI doctor what we could do for the pain and he ids telling me that the pain is something that most crohns Pt. don't have is this true?

Hi Eric
Sorry to hear about your troubles, but glad you found your way to the forum :)
As for your GI, well I am just gobsmacked!! I'm afraid I wouldn't have a lot of faith in a doc that came out with such a sweeping statement. I don't have a lot of the classic Crohn's symptoms and pain is the most irksome symptom for me.
Do you know what the new set of meds is going to be?

I know how you feel. Which is why I'm switching doctors!
I have been doubled over in pain several times and my GI would not prescribe pain meds. Apparently I have to be hospitalized for that... So frustrating.

Hi Eric and welcome! Everyone's symptoms are different. Some of us have D, constipation, abdominal pain, bleeding, etc. No two cases are alike. But pain is certainly a common symptoms. We may not all suffer from pain, but I think a good deal of us do.

If I were you, I'd find myself a new doctor. He obviously isn't well educated on IBD, and doesn't sound too compassionate. Ditch him!
