My wife had surgery on feb 21 spent 5 days in hospital. A week later went in for follow up appt. Had ct scan done found two abscesses had jp drains put in. Spent 5 more days in hospital. Came home for two days and went back to hospital due to vomitting none stop for 5 hours. Had to have emergency surgery due to small intestines twisted and pinched under colon also had another jp drain put in. Spent about 2 plus weeks in hospital. So about 9 weeks later still having problems still has 1 jp drain in. Where doctor cut open has 3 holes where fecal smelling drainage coming out. just wanting to know if anyone else has had this many complication due to surgery. Thanks:sign0085:

Hello there, has your wife been diagnosed with an IBD like crohns/ulcerative colitis? What was the initial surgery for? I have had surgery myself but did not suffer any complications so could not advise however due to the nature of any type of operation there is a risk of problems

Where the fecal smelling drainage is coming from, is that from where the abscess drain is or where the actual incision was made for the surgery?
