Hi everyone,

I've been taking Remicade infusions every two months for the past year and a half. I'll now be moving to the US for graduate school. Has anyone been in a similar situation like this and can help me out? I wanted to know how I can continue taking Remicade ( and any help on the insurance side of things would really help me)

Thank you!

You would need to contact the university you are attending
Most offer health insurance as part of the package for grad students for a price
That said the insurance may not cover pre existing conditions such as Crohns
Or meds such as remicade
Those are questions to ask
Additionally most larger university are affiliated with teaching hospitals
So you may be able to get established with a GI there
Another question for the university -who is and isn't covered intheir plan for doctors by name

Insurance will have a copay for remicade which can be very expensive
Remistart tends to cover the difference
Not sure if they will cover that is your not a US citizen

Good luck

Call Johnson and Johnson, they cover the cost of Remicade for some people. I think more than we think, I just don't want to give you bad info.
