So, I have showed signs of Crohn's and trying to convince my physician is, well, tough. I have mouth sores, anal bleeding, constant nausea and vomiting when I eat, severe arthritic pain, abdominal distention, etc. I have extreme pain in my lower right abdominal quadrant (I first thought it was appendicitis but that has been ruled out via CT) and read somewhere that Crohn's can present itself as appendicitis. So, I would like to test a theory. I am asking what are some of the foods that you avoid during a flare up. I am looking to finish this "food journal" with some things that will cause me to sick. Call it a personal experiment. Please let me know what the worst foods are to eat that you have experienced.

The top 3 for me are caffeine, dairy, and [refined] sugar. But close behind are spicy foods, and veggies/fruits with a skin (peppers, tomatoes etc.)

In general, a lot of us have issues with high-fiber/whole grains, fresh fruit and veggies (particularly ones with seeds and/or skins), nuts and seeds, and some of us have issues with dairy or gluten too. Personally my top two "avoid at all costs" foods are coconut and greek yogurt. I'm not sure why but those just do me in for days! Everybody's different, so you might need to do some experimenting if you're trying to make yourself feel awful.

Keep a food journal, and write your symptoms in it too,
then ou will know what causes an quick reaction and you might find a longer term pattern too

Spicy foods and things with a lot of acid I.e. oranges can cause a flare up for me. Oh and also red meat such as lamb. Everyone is definitely different though so worth experimenting...its very weird giving this sort of advice :)
On a similar note, I had the same issue convincing my Dr as he seemed to constantly think I had 'allergies'.
