I have crohns disease and a ileostomy ! I started taking cesamet 1mg 4X day
My doctor now wants me to smoke it instead! I was wondering If anybody could tell me more information about smoking it instead of taking the THC pills? What are some of the pro and cons ? I'm not on any crohns medication but still experence pain from my arthritis and all the operations(26) strickures!

~Thanks ~

smoking will provide you with more of the various compounds than pill format. You'll get more out of it. I can't weigh pros and cons of both, I've never had it in pill format. But if your doctor want you to start smoking it, have him help you get the gov't exemption.

I just want to echo what vonfunk said. No experience with pills, but smoking is definitely worth a shot.

Hey. As far as marinol goes, an important thing to remember is that it lacks CBD. While THC is the primary chemical in marijuana that fights pain, CBD actually fights inflammation.

I much prefer smoking that eating or cooking with marijuana. The main reason is that you can be much more accurate with the dose and it works fast.

I've had crohns for at least 25 years and am 52 years old.
When first diagnosed I stopped using marijuana recreation-ally.
I started on prednisone and azulfadine. Within 2 years I had no
quality of life at all. I nearly bled to death on the floor unconscious
at one point. I developed an anal fistula. Honestly at that point I decided
if life was going to be like that I didn't want to live. I'm talking about lying in a bathtub full of my own blood and feces as I was too week to stand day after day for months. So I stopped all meds and started to smoke marijuana heavily for pain relief. Within 1 month all internal bleeding stopped and hasn't returned for over 25 years. I'm not in perfect health by any means but I do have an intact colon still something I was told I'd need operations for over 20 years ago. I am 100 percent positive marijuana is why I'm alive today.
