So had my colonoscopy today which showed nothing! Would I get cramps bleeding mucus discharge and weight loss fatigue through IBS?

Bit unsure of which way to go! They took 3 biopsies one the anus one near my terminal ileum and one near it! They are looking for microscopic inflammation.

What are the other options I can pursue in the U.K.?

Cheers Andy

I am not sure but I think that sounds more like IBD. For other options, I am going to tag Fuzzy Butterfly.

Inflammation can also be in your small intestines. Colonoscopies are limited to looking at the large intestine.

Is the blood bright red or dark red? The blood usually get darker the longer it has to travel.

Have you had any blood work to check your inflammatory markers like SED-rate and CRP?

The blood was bright red but after a week it got darker! I've had blood taken but I'm not sure what they tested for, I know they was looking to see if I was anemic. Does inflammation show on standard blood tests?

The inflammation marker blood tests (SED Rate and CRP) have to be ordered specifically. Ask you doctor to see if they can test for them. It is a good idea to keep track of your rates over time as it will show a pattern.

What a nightmare, I do feel for you. I actually had a small bowel MRI before my colonoscopy but I didn't find out the results until after the colonoscopy at which point I was diagnosed anyway. If it is that it's higher up then this could pick it up. Have you had an upper GI endoscopy? Is the blood you pass quite a bright red or dark 'older' blood?

It may be worth asking for both of the above if you haven't already had them. I've followed your previous posts and it does sound like something is amiss. I have Crohn's in the small bowl and my symptoms are quite different to yours, but with IBD that means nothing. Anything goes unfortunately! Keep us updated :)
