Hi everyone. New to this forum but not to crohns. I was first diagnosed with crohns in 1993 as my father was dying of colon cancer. I had always had bowel problems as a kid, but thought everyone had them. As the stress of caring for my father increased, the problems escalated. Never knew he had prior problems too until he fell ill. Over the years, I have taken about every med you can think of. Remicade, Pentasa, 6MP. Currently taking Humira injections and 60MG Prednisone as needed. Just started taking some Probiotics a few weeks ago just to try and now am constipated which is a new experience for me and I do not like it. Finally had a bowel movement today but had alot of bleeding with it. Just got on here as really feeling down and just needed to vent. Thanks for understanding.

Hi Schnab1

Welcome to the forum!

Your story of stress as a trigger for Crohn's sure sounds like a familiar story around these parts! Sounds like you were not only going through an emotional rollercoaster with your dad's illness, but the physical care would have taken its toll on your body as well.

You've sure gone through a wide gamut of medications over the years. Are Humira and Prednisone helping you with your symptoms and illness? There is a Humira subforum in the Treatment section of this forum that you might want to check out.

Living life with this illness can sure be daunting and solitary. I hope you find this forum helps alleviate some of the loneliness.

Again, welcome, and I look forward to reading your input in the various threads.

Best regards,

Kismet

Make sure you drink lots of water!!! Especially if you notice almost normal BMs after taking the probiotics. That should help. Sucks when you're not in remission but once u are, man its great to feel normal. I notice changes if I change what i eat in the morning.

HI schnab1. welcome to the forum , i take probotics and they work great. it's good to hear you doing well. keep a eye out on the bleeding part and if it persists go back to doctor again to see what is going on.
