I am so frustrated. I will start from the beginning.

In 2007, I went in to the doc for severe pain in my belly. After a scan, they said it looked like ovulation cysts. In December of 2011, I again went to the ER. I had pain that seemed like appendicitis. No fever but i was doubling over in pain. The found an inflamed illieum and I was sent on my way to try anti inflammatory meds and ordered to get into the gastro (never did since I felt better). In March, I went into the er for SEVERE stomach pains. I couldnt even stand up. I was vomitting and had diarrhea and nothing would make it go away. I was diagnosed at that time with Gastritis. I then decided to schedule an endo and colonoscopy in hopes that we could see what was going on. At the time, I was feeling no symptoms. I also got a negative result. Fast forward to today and its been sucky. I have had a lower dull ache in my back that radiates to the side of my stomach (right side). I also had diarrhea all day. Googling, it seems like it could be UC or CD and it could be in my small intestine.

At this point, I am frustrated. I have had poop issues since I can remember. Bleeding when constipated, crapping my brains out at times with severe cramping, bloating, BMing only a couple times a week. I have never been regular.

Any advice?

Hi and welcome to the forum! :D

When exactly were the scopes done? Are you actively seeing a GI that's trying to diagnose you? If you are then have them run other tests like a small bowel follow through/barium swallow, blood work to check for inflammation and vitamin levels and possibly an MRI to see what's going on in the small intestine (stool tests are also common to check for inflammation or any parasites etc). You've already shown inflammation in your small bowel so of course they aren't going to see that in your scopes and biopsies can often show nothing if the area is all clear.

When you went to the ER the second time, what test did they do that showed the inflammation?

When I got back the tests I stopped going to her because everything was negative. Before that they did an inflammation test that was also negative. When I went to the ER the 2nd time that was just for Gastritis they did nothing except for a cocktail of mylanta and novocaine or something like it. The first time was an MRI (in December). It showed inflammation in the illeium. We were testing for appendicitis at that time.

Welcome :)

If the GI only did a colonoscopy and endoscopy then I agree with Crabby. They need to conduct other tests so they can have a good look at the area that showed up inflamed on the MRI. And a colonoscopy and endoscopy don't do that.

You definitely need to get a diagnosis. Stick with it until they figure out what is going on.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I agree with crabby. A barium follow through is a great idea. Right side pain, usually means the ileum, and is most common place for ibd to start. I hope your gi can diagnose you and your feeling a lot better soon. Beat wishes xo
