Hi Everyone,
Im a somewhat newly diagosed female with Crohns and looking for some info. In the past i have had to have my appendix removed a section of intestines removed and also a fistulatomy. All before they finally diagnosed me. What finally caught it was i was told i had two ulcers in my intestines. They started me on Imuran and i tried Humira and have not had a flare since. However just this past weekend i went to the ER with intense pain in my lower right abdomen. They believed it was a flare and gave me steroids and pain meds and sent me packing with a note to follow up with GI doc. Hes extremely hard to get in to see so i have to wait a month. Now i have pain in my upper belly and lots of middle back pain. The pain in my belly feels like when u dont eat for a super long time and something is ripping ur belly to shreds. However if i eat the pain doesnt go away. its not constant but kinda comes in waves. Im concerned b/c when they removed the section of my intestines last time it was because of a hole leaking air into my belly. I dont want to wait to long for the pain to get really bad but i dont want to rush back to the er if there is nothing they can do. Any info would be great!!

Any chance you can call GI and explain symptoms, try to get in earlier (like right away)?

I agree with this and if you can't get in earlier go to er, don't suffer unnecessarily, good luck, hope you get seen sooner rather than later, please let us no how you get on.

Hi taraturtles and welcome to the forum! :D

How are you feeling now? Did you contact your GI and let them know how you're doing? I know it can take a while to get in and see your GI, that's why I usually deal with mine over the phone. If your symptoms have stayed the same or have gotten worse then I hope you can get to the ER. They can help figure out what's causing the pain by running some tests and then send the results to your GI so your GI can treat you sooner. Keep us posted. :)
