I have been dealing with issues that started in 1999 and got progressively worse. I went to the doctor in 2008 finally after self medicating with Imodium for years (until it quit working for me) and had many tests done under insurance before I was downsized in 2009. I have been on Lomotil since then bet never got a definitive answer from the doctor. Did the MRI, CAT scan, ultrasound and even a colonoscopy. I was able to take the Lomotil only once a day and for months could go every other day with it but now I am back to at least 2 a day to try to curtail the diarrhea and sometime the 3 I am prescribed. I hate the no warning explosions and feel very self concious now about crowded areas. I am still young and this sucks to have to limit my living of life....

Hi and welcome! What were the results from the tests - all normal? Was there any sign of inflammation? What are your symptoms?

If you can't get answers from your current doctor, move on to another. You should be having regular follow ups with your doctor if there is still a question as to what is going on with your GI tract. If he doesn't seem interested in your case, find someone who will be!

I honestly don't remember where it was except he said lower intestine and no ulcerations at that time. I haven't been to actually see a dr since 2009 as I have no job and no insurance.

I am sorry you haven't been able to see a doctor due to not having insurance. I sure hope you can find employment with insurance, so you can see a GI. Darn our health care system (I assume you are in the US)...

I am... I am in Florida and no jobs available around here at this time and the doctors listed on here are no where close to me either...
