Hey Folks,
I got a flyer in the post yesterday from my local NACC group. As part of the newsletter the flyer is asking for IBD patients - both Crohns and UC to participate in a new study.
It involves staying 1-2 nights in a volunteer suite and providing 1-2 blood samples and stool samples. The reason??
The are "evaluating the potential use of material isolated from stool samples as a means of studying the colon without the need for invasive procedures like colonoscopy/sigmoidoscopy".
An explanatory piece with it says "they are leading a study to see if they can retrieve cells lining the colon from faecal samples".
Thought it was interesting that they are looking for other options testing wise too on the research front.
