New to Crohn's forum. Probably the oldest "diagnosed with Chrohn's" member:shifty-t:
Not sure if this is where I should post but here is my question (story to follow but not tonight)
Since last hospital stay, new doctor with new list of drugs. As a former 20 year pharma sales rep, I have some nickle knowledge about meds. Doctor had me on a plethora of new-to-me drugs, and I feel 100% better. Titrating down from Prednisone (yes, thinning hair) and also on Pentasa (yes, thinning hair). On Medicare with Part D (drug Rx). First filling of Pentasa it cost me about $25 for three month supply. Since February I've accumulated several hundreds of $$$ in co-pays; didn't realize that Medicare adds up the retail cost of drugs, and that has put me into the "Donut Hole" where I have to pay $375 for one month's supply. Pharmacist suggested I contact Shire and fill out assistance program form, have doc sign. Income qualified.
Just curious what some of you are paying for a month's supply. I will have to incur $2K before end of year for Pentasa cost to be reduced.
Thanks -- and again, if I posted on the wrong site, I am sorry. THANKS AGAIN, so glad I found this.
