Hi guys! I am new to the forum, and honestly, I never even thought I would ever join such a thing. You see, the thing is, I was diagnosed with "mild" crohn's disease in 2004. My GI doctor explained that this basically meant I would have flare ups. Most of my symptoms were related to pain. I never had any "bathroom" issues as I liked to refer to them. At the time, my doctor put me on Pentasa to calm down the flare and it seemed to work just fine.
However, since then, I have had more frequent flares, although not so terrible. I am currently on Lialda, which seems to be helping, although not so much the last few days.
Here is my biggest question:
Is it possible that sesame seems have caused a major flare? I had a sesame seed bagel (only because that was the only one left) and 6 hours later I was doubled over in pain. The pain passed, but I am not sure what else to attribute it to.
Thankfully, my crohn's is not so bad, but when I get a flare, it is not pretty. I had the same reaction with popcorn before.
My boggest frustration is that one day I can eat something and be fine and a few days later I eat the same thing and am miserable.
Any thoughts, suggestions, advice?
My affected area is mostly at the junction of small/large intestine.
Thanks!!
Rachel
