Hello! I'm Michelle. I'm 31 years old, and was dx with Crohns when I was 22. After a year or so of awful pain, and severe weight loss, I was rushed to the hospital with a ruptured bowel, and severe Crohns. I had 6 inches of small bowel removed, and luckily lived, and have been dealing with this disease ever since. I'm now expecting my first baby in May, and wanted to ask some questions about what other women have gone through.

Welcome to the forum! There are many knowledgeable women on here who I'm sure could give you lots of advice! Congrats by the way!

Welcome to the forum, Michelle!

Are you currently taking any medications? How are you feeling?

You might want to check out the Parenting/TTC section of the forum for information and advice. :)

Thank you, I did post on parenting site. I appreciate it! Sarah, yes, I take 6mp daily, but used to take 1000mg of Pentasa. I have graduated from that though. I feel awesome most of the time, but dealing with some scar pain from my re-section scar. Hopefully I'll get some good advice! :0)

I do get that sometimes really low on the right hand side and under neath my belly button near the incisions, it feels like it is stretching a bit as the baby gets bigger. Some of it of course is the muscle as well, I work with someone who is due 2 days before me and she also gets some pain at times low on her belly. Have the docs told you how theyplan to monitor you through the pregnancy?

As far as monitoring, my GI doc will just continue to see me for my med checks, and routine blood work. I am still taking my 6mp throughout pregnancy. Since I've had a resection, I consider myself extremely lucky that I stay in remission almost all the time. My Crohns hasn't bothered me at all during this pregnancy. Just this scar pain. It seems to happen if I stand for long periods, or of course when I sneeze, and it's just in one particular spot. Just hoping I don't have some scar tissue adhesions in there....that's gonna get painful. I'm not even showing yet, so it's making me nervous for what's to come. :0(

Sounds similar to me a bit as I find I get a sharp nudge if I sneeze. Pregnancy wise I have been seen at the hospital and they have just told me that I am to continue with the Folic Acid through the entire pregnancy and I will get two extra scans at 30 and 34 weeks to make sure the baby is gaining his weight. My GI doc also just wants to see me a little more often to make sure I am still doing well.
