New to gastro... need advice

So tomorrow I go to the gastro with my girlfriend. She has been in remission the last 4 years and this is her first flare up since we've been together. This being my first real doctors appt with her, what do I need to know to be prepared? What kind of questions do I need to ask? This is all very scary for me so any advice would be much appreciated. Even just advice on being supportive for her and how to better handle this myself would be very welcome. Hope everyone was a wonderful love filled day.

What are her flareup symptoms? I currently think I may be experiencing the same thing and am going into my doctor today at 115. I hope she gets to feeling better!

Well initially she had lots of blood in her stool and had bad stomach pains, along with having zero energy and just feeling overall crappy. The doctor has her on 40mg of prednisone until she can get to the gastro, which has helped ALOT. In her past prednisone hasn't helped so were seeing this as a good sign.

Yes, pred will def make you feel better...but the docs don't normally recommend staying on it any amount of time. I hope she gets to feeling better! I go into my doctor today seeing as I am having signs of my first flare in a year. Your a good man for taking care of her. As for your appointment with her tomorrow, there is a lot you will learn...you will probably just take it all in. Its such a hard disease and takes a lot of time to know the ins and outs.
