So Ahh I'm nearly 16 years old, I was diagnosed back in April of last year... Wow nearly a whole year, sorry I'm getting sidetracked. So I'm new to the site and I just wanted to tell my story and hopefully get advice later on if I need it.
So basically back in 2012 I started getting really bad pains, tiredness , you know the usual... So I went to see my local GP who basically said I was looking for attention, to get off school or whatever. So I went on for another few weeks, every so often complaining about feeling sick tired soar etc... So I went back to the GP and he put me on Iron tablets to help with being tired...
The Iron was incredibly hard on my stomach (on top of the Crohn's but I didn't know that at the time) I was doubled over in pain crying for two days straight as the iron made it's way out of my system. Obviously I never took more...
So my mom started to believe that there was something actually wrong with me so she got me an appointment with a consultant in the City. So that day I saw the consultant, I told her my symptoms and she did a check on me and the first thing she said is it was Crohn's disease. She then sent me to hospital where I was to get the dreaded "Colonoscopy". So I being extremely stubborn didn't want to go near any laxatives for obvious reasons... So basically they couldn't get a clear view but they thought I just had a stomach ulcer... So they sent me to a hospital in a completely different part of the country about 4 hours away. There I met one of the nicest doctors yet! So he sent me for an MRI and another colonoscopy... From there I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. According to him one of the worst cases he had seen...
It's kind of funny actually in school I always make jokes about it and people are afraid to laugh or say anything incase they offend me... It's quite amusing watching there faces just go blank.
So Ahh ya that's my story... Kind of... So if I'm posting this in the wrong part I'm sorry. I'm new and a but lost. And if I am just let me know and I'll move along.
Thanks
