Hey everyone, I am new to this forum, so bare with me, and let me know if I am not doing this correctly. I am still learning about this disease, and I'm becoming frustrated with my gastro
Backstory:
I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2011. I had a time of trial and error with medications. (Mainly different steroids) July 2011 We finally tried Humira, and after only a few weeks I noticed a significant change. I've always had a cramping/pinching sensation in the lower left side of my abdomen. My Gastro, suggested I see my OBGYN to see if it was my ovaries. My OB found a tumor that was larger than my ovary, it was removed, along with my left ovary, and tube. That was June of 2014. A recent CT scan showed that the disease had spread from just my intestines, but now in to my colon. Gastro wants to stick with my treatment of WEEKLY Humira doses. No other changes although the disease has spread, that concerns me.
Side note: When using Humira aren't you supposed to get blood testing done every so often? I have only had an order for a blood test when I go in to the Gastro office with symptoms or complaints.
I still have the pinching/cramping sensation nearly everyday. Most days it can be tolerated. Other days I'm writhing in pain. The pain can become so intense that walking or standing straight becomes a task. I always feel like a BM or urinating will alleviate the pain, but it doesn't. Sometimes a heating pad and Tylenol helps decrease the pain. I've always associated the cramps, fatigue, and constant restroom trips to be a flare. Although I struggle with the fatigue and restroom trips daily.
Is this pinching sensation part of a flare? Then am I flaring everyday? Is it something else? Would a different treatment help? I'm so confused....
