Newbie in everyway :(

Hi my names Katy aged 28

after the last 6/7 months of pain and no having a clue about whats

happening to my body last week i was told that i had either UC or Crohn's apparently it pointing more towards Crohn's because of the different areas of my body its effecting. in the last few months ive got skin tags and fissures had constant diarrhea lost 2 and a half stone (on of the symptoms im not that angry about) i've had no appetite and god knows what else my minds trying to forget

i was/am in shock i've gone from being a healthy girl to being on 21 tablets a day im still trying to get my head around whats happening and trying to understand more about my illness

i come across this forum something ive never used before my computer skill go as far as Facebook and that's it. anyway it would be nice to meet people who are in the same boat and when i tell family or friend they don't understand and it seems to me they think im making up symptoms ahh that's my rant over for now anyway ​

Hi Katy. Welcome to the forum. Take care of your self and don't mind the people. Most of us have somebody around who does not understand or care. But oh well. If you are not hungry, try to drink one of those liquid bottles with a lot of vitamins on it. You did not mention what kind of meds you are taking, and if they are working for you, Hope you feel better soon. And feel free to ask questions or vent away.

i have been prescribed

Mesalazine
Adcal
Prednisolone
claritromycin
amoxicillen
lansoprazole

they have helped me on a morning (that's when im struck most) and although i still have pain in my stomach and bad bowel movements its alot better than it was i seem to have a lot more energy also

im waiting for an MRI scan so they can look into my small intestines then im not sure whee things are going to go from there

I might be way off here but....
Why are you on 2 anti biotics, Clarithromycin and Amoxicillan? Have they told you that you have a bacterial infection? Only asking cos...
I go into a massive flare and really sick with anti biotics/anti bacterials.
Yeah they treat the bacterial infection but also strip the guts of good bacteria, essential stuff, just my opinion, what I believe.
Pred will treat any inflammation in the short term only, and are you taking any calcium with it? Pred is a bone robber. And the Lansoprazole will exacerbate this.
Not dissing your doc, but no wonder you're feeling rough. Hopefully the scopes will determine what's going on and you're prescribed an IBD medication.

Hi i have a bacteria infection helisomthing or other so on a weeks intensive antibiotic course to clear it up they have given me calcium and D3 supplements
I hate reading about the side effects of the tablets I have to take it makes me think they are doing more harm than good
