Hi all,

I am a newbie on here as well as a newbie to IBD. I was diagnosed with IBS in 10 years ago. That seemed to go away. Then in June 2009 I began to feel tired, crampy, abdominal pain, and urgency to run to the bathroom, many times a day.
FINALLY I was diagnosed with Crohns in December 2009. I am on Asacol, 6-MP, and Prednisone. I have been on prednisone for 3 months and now have the fun "moonface" as well as feel like a sausage. I have been having horrible pain in my abdomin. I had an ultrasound, bloodwork etc. My GI feels it is the Prednisone. I can't wait to be done with this drug:(

Welcome to the CF TJOHNSON. Sorry to hear you are having a rough time. I didn't like the moon-face and everything that came with pred. Good luck and enjoy the Forum.

:welcome: T Johnson to the forum! I am on pred to but a short taper. Prednisone is the cheapest drug and it does work in high doses but the side effects are nasty. Perhaps, trying a biologic like Remicade or Humira could help you. Glad you found us, lot of good people here to help you with any questions you may have. WE all know how you feel! Take care and keep us updated!

Hi TJohnson, :bigwave:

Popping by to say welcome aboard! Good to see you found your way here and I hope you start to feel better soon. This is a great place to hang out and you will find many kindred spirits here.

As Jett said, please keep us posted on how you are going with things.

All the best, :)
Dusty

Hi TJ, welcome. You and my son were dxed about the same time and are on the same meds. He did his pred taper in Jan-Feb. I am curious why they waited so long to put you on pred? Were you OK during the first half of the year? Glad you joined us!! Stick around!!

Thanks for all the warm wishes. Very welcoming here:)
Mark- My GI was trying to avoid putting me on Steroids as long as possible. She was hoping to calm my flare wit Asacol alone. My GI knows I have been trying to conceive and she didn't want to keep making me put that off:( But I HAVE to be in remission so here I am. I actually feel okay today :)
