Hello- my name is Amy, I'm 33 and was diagnosed with Crohn's today following a colonoscopy. I still have to go back and do a CT scan and blood work, but the endoscopy doctor was pretty sure. I've been having symptoms for the past 6 months, and only recently have the flare ups been getting worse. That's why I went in to check it out. I still so new at this, and have been researching online about the condition. It will be good to meet some others with the same condition.

Hi Amy and welcome to the forum :bigwave: Sorry to hear about the diagnosis hun, you have definetly come to the right place for helpful info and lots of support from a great bunch of people. Has the doc given you any meds yet or are they waiting for the other tests to be done first? Do you have a follow up appt booked with them to discuss the results?

I'm not on any meds yet, I have to do the CT scan and blood work first, then I have a followup appointment in 2-4 weeks. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Hi and welcome! Word of advice, whenever going for testing, whether bloodwork, MRI, ct, always ask for a personal copy of the results. I know now Labcorp and quest diagnostics will even post it online for you. It's nice to have these records quickly at hand in case of er visits, or switching doctors, and I go over my bloodwork, just to have any idea of what's going on. Sometimes doctors overlook things, especially when numbers are borderline... That's just my advice though!

Good luck with your further tests, and welcome!

Welcome, Amy :) I've recently been diagnosed too. Let me know if you need someone to talk to and/or support!

Hi Amy and welcome to the community! It's good to have you here.

I agree with nikimazur, start early and request copies of all your results. As this is a chronic condition it's good to be able to track and correlate your results with how you feel. You can also monitor to see if things are getting better or worse and be proactive. Sometimes you might have to advocate for yourself so the better armed you are to do that, the better.

We're here to help you every step of the way.

Thanks for the advice! I had my CT scan today, (Barium...ugh...) and will meet with the GI doc on July 2nd for the results. Slightly flared up today, probably should of skipped the burger and shake yesterday...
