Hey team, I'm just looking for some popular opinion here:

I have strictures in my ileum and though I'm in pretty good shape, I still have a chronic lower right dull ache which can,if I'm not carefukl with my diet, become the full blown stabbing, stretching, grumbling angry gut that I'm sure many of us know too well.

I don't normally take pain meds (not because I think I'm tough - acetaminophen doesn't help and NSAIDs are off the table). I don't really need, nor do I particulary want to start anything stronger, but there are some days at work when I need some effective short-moderate term pain relief.

My doc recently suggested nictoine (patches, mints, gum) as an alternative. I've done a lot of homework on the subject and it seems promising. I was just wondering oif anybody out there has had any experience.

Thanks a ton,

---> I.
