I guess we have done all of this research for nothing. Just some Aloe Vera pills is all we needed the whole time.

Well, I could hardly be symptom free since I have not used them.

All kidding aside, who in their right mind thinks that this kind of spam sells a damn thing.

Like Dan said how is this logically going to push any hits/purchases, it's downright insulting to peddle your crap products with such blatant ignorance.

As if nobody has figured out why a bathtub's worth of blood has exited one's body via the ass over the last couple years/months, it's just a coincidence they joined a forum called "Crohn's Forum", thinking it belonged to some German who created a virtual place to hang out.....I'd have more respect for a Twinkie salesman on weight loss forum.

You guys obviously didn't look through their website thoroughly enough. Did you know the pills can also give you "longer lasting tan?" How could I not buy them now?
 
Well, it's been really nice knowing you guys, and I've learned a lot here, but it is time for me to go.
I'm going to start checking out all of the weight loss forums, looking for the Twinkie salesman. I LOVE Twinkies!!
I'm also going to look for the meat guy at vegans-r-us.com.

As long as the plant is up there already, you may as well slip a few Twinkies in also. They are softer, and the creamy filling is bound to be soothing.

Are you guys quite finished having fun? I can delete the original post from the egg-spurt or whatever his/her extremely brilliant forum name is. Or I can leave it there for you guys to poke fun of. I mean, whoever it is, they got it coming... Or, I can go in and edit this post, re-direct the URL to something worthy.. See, a lot of income a website can acrue is derived from the number of 'hits' (visits) it receives... if they go in for ads on their site or linked referrals, etc..

Problem is, some unscrupulous (sp?) website operators will then go to places like this, either in a desparate attempt to sucker folks into buying their products, OR just to generate traffic from the curious... you know, good, decent non judgemental folks who just want to discover for themselves whether the site is legit or not. either way, its a win/win proposition for these low lifes.

Anyway... if any posts/threads show up that require the services of a mod pronto, please use the report post avenue.. that will generate a message to the mods or the admin that something needs attention. mike is pretty occupied at the mo, Nancy Lee isn't feeling the best... leaves me the only recourse a lot of the time. Feeling a little swamped at times. I did suggest to mike we could use another 'volunteer' mod or two, perhaps a rep of different time zones.. Just to help us stay on top of 'creatures' like this, who never seem to sleep.

I get really annoyed when I see people trying to take advantage of illnesses in this way.

I'd remove the sooner rather than later. I would hope no-one would fall for stuff like this, but you never know.

Oh, and I think everyone was able to discern the 'true' nature of poster N site.

Thing of it is, think even the most sceptical would check it out first, just to be sure it was a phoney... and perhaps nurturing a hope for a 'real' cure.. I think that is what these folks are really counting on... our even handed nature AND desparation.. One or the other bound to drive some of us to the site... perhaps even convince the most desparate to try this junk. one way or the other, it generates revenue.. either thru website hits or sales.

Unfortunately, there really is no way, other than for mods or admins to try to stay on top of this... to stop people from joining the forum for no other reason than to try to drum up business...

An actually reliable website whose information are obtained from real doctors. I was not also making fun of the illness but if i give all those senior members who may have the said condition then I am happy that at least I've lessen your pain.

Not because you have it doesn't mean you're already an expert of it. There are some things you might not know about it and it does say in the article that rectal pain/bleeding, although less common, may still be considered as a symptom of the disease.

Yes, I'm trying to sell but not desperately because I did not beg for anyone to buy the pill but I just invited the readers to visit the site if you'd like to know more about the pill which can reduce the effect. If I am desperate and a big scam, I would have said "d pill that can cure or totally eliminate the effect of Crohn's Disease".

Nope, your clicks/visits on the site will not increase or give me any profit unless you literally buy the product. In fairness to the company that sells the product, they do have a team of experts - US & UK doctors - who develop their products, other than the online gaming companies who are just their newly acquired affiliates, but even the latter are legally licensed too.

You know, for those of you who actually have the disease, be open to additional information. Don't block an opportunity with sarcasm. Because you'll never know what this kind of information can do for you if only you broaden your mind a little. And besides, this is a forum..You should welcome all opinions.

With this message, I am requesting those members or people out there who have the disease and actually had experience rectal pain/bleeding and other symptoms I've mentioned to testify here. Otherwise, tell me then that all those symptoms I've mentioned are false because we only have the medicinenet.com and all their expert doctors to be blamed for it.

The fact is, is that there are so many different dimensions to the disease that a website quote couldn't possibly depict what WE have to go through. Obviously from the way you speak, you don't have this disease, and if you did, you'd know that a stupid aloe pill isn't the one success to fixing the disease.

Usually when a person is diagnosed with a disease, they go out and find all the information that they can on it... which means that there's a GREAT chance a lot of us here know about it... a lot more than a salesmen that only peddles pills and doesn't even have it.

We don't like advertisements on our site. So therefore the question of whether you were just selling or selling "desperately" has no merit. NO ADVERTISEMENTS.

This forum is for people who DO have Crohn's Disease or UC... or even IBS and those family members or friends who are affected by it... Most of us are open to additional information... but your post provided me no additional information.

You are right, we are a forum and should welcome all opinions, and we do. But an advertisement is hardly an opinion.

No one ever said you were wrong in your citing of medicinenet.com, but we already know the symptoms of Crohn's Disease.... BECAUSE we HAVE it. Do I have rectal bleeding, I do in fact... and abdominal pain and fevers... YES I DO. But did you mention diarhhea and constipation? Or eye pain and joint pain? Did you mention skin disorders?

I may be overreacting... in fact I KNOW I'm overreacting. But it HIGHLY pisses me off when someone walks in here to try and sell crap to people that don't know any better, especially the newly diagnosed that are scared out of their wits about trying to cope with this disease.

If you check out the rules to this forum, it blatantly states "All posts containing advertisements, spam, or offensive material will be removed and the poster may be banned".

I'm done.

I don't think she wants any twinkie "filling" ;). That aside, if your intentions were to inform you could have done it in a very different manner and provided a lot more background on what you were saying. You could have also said you were selling a product that has had some success for a certain subset of our symptoms and that it might be worth trying and provided us with the information. We have to deal with a lot of people trying to sell us miracle cures or symptom reducers all the time, so what appears to be a blatant attempt to take advantage of us will obviously be met with skepticism and sarcasm. I'm sure many of us have heard the aloe can be soothing and potentially beneficial to us, but why would we trust the product advertised by someone who made an account just to try and sell to us over the product recommended to us down at the local nutrition store?
 
Well, the part that pisses me off MAJORLY is to come here touting a cure.
In the body of their post they say there is no cure, but they added it in the tags. And, for a website that advertises not to be compensated based on their hits, welllll... I've been out of the IT game since 04 due to my IBD, so it is possible... It just wasn't my experience BEFORE I left the industry.

And add to those gripes of mine, this was posted by self named 'eggspert' who apparently has no first hand knowledge of the disease. Leastways. they've not bothered to introduce themselves and share their first hand experiences.
 
Yep I'm sure Eggy here knows more than my TEAM of doctors at my renowned hospital here that have treated THOUSANDS of patients before me for Crohns.

Eggspert, I have a bad friggen headache from trying to traverse your atrocious grammar and syntax, so first off, if you are a site-to-site salesman, get your grammar in check first.

Second off, buy your own product, because Katie Sue put her foot so far up your arse, you now have rectal bleeding yourself. Be thankful it's not Crohns.

yeah I've seen some of those "owned" pics before on weightlifting forums, they're funny. If you continue to watch Jed's first link, I wonder if after long enough it becomes like a behavior modification program, or some tool for hypnotism. You walk away feeling scared of your own skin.
 
Well... I will say I've never had a website made for me before... so thanks. The first one (the owned one) has some questionable pics... a bit disconcerting... but the one in my honor could give me a big head if I'm not careful.

I never meant to start a "ripping" party... I was just personally highly aggravated (as I'm sure a lot of you are)... but I don't think eggspert will be back. And if he/she has the gall to do so... I guess we can either ignore or have more fun. At this point I'm ready to let it go. :)
 
Hmmm, yeah.. Think the owned site should be 'tamed' a little. Lots of members here are young and impressionable.. I understand N sympathize with the raw emotion that erupts when folks try to blatantly exploit us, but I think we have to rise above it; not stoop to their level. Just my view on it.
