No poo in 4 days what should I do

I have microscopic colitis causes D and pain every freaking day, been taking entocort for 4 months now and I have been on the taper of 2 pills for a week now, however this entire time I have had skinny poo and now I haven't went at all in 4 days, have been drinking miralax for 3 days and still nothing, any input would be great thanks.

Skinny poo followed by no poo suggests narrowing, get yourself to a doctor asap. If you get real bad pains or start to vomit, get to ER immediately because you could be blocked.

I was worried about this also my doctor told me to take a fiber supplement also to bulken the stool which I haven't done cause I didn't feel that was why I had the skinny poo

Normal poo comes out rather like the circumference of a candy bar... `skinny poo is, um, alot skinnier. Okay, okay, say you're playing with playdoh, if you push it through a large cylinder, you get a large tube shape. Likewise, if you push it through a skinny cylinder, you get a skinny tube. Are you with me???

ahhhh thats kind of what I thought!! he he!! I thought I might be missing some terminology for something so I didn't want to assume the obvious!! he he he!!

I think once you have had prep for a colonoscopy - you have experienced every type of poo going!!! I'm just new to the descriptive language! ha!

I haven't laughed that hard in a long, long time. It's not everyday someone asks you what skinny poo is. Anyway, it's caused by narrowing of the bowel. Not necessarily a good thing if you have it. Probably a good sign to get you a** to the doctor.
Any crystal's right, fiber is not going to help the situation at all. Most likely make it worse.

I'm glad it wasn't just me! I'm silly enough to actually ask though! I did assume that it would be just that...but part of me did wonder if it was a term for something else! He hee!!

finally went

Well I finally had a stoll and my already skinny poo is getting skinnier more like the size of a worm now. Not sure what to make of it. I called the nurse at the GI clinic and she was suppose to call me back she has yet to do that, but I do have an appointment on the 27th and didn't know if I should just wait and bring this up then or if the poo getting skinnier is still a huge concern. This has never happened to me ever the constipation thing it has been straight D for years until this Entocort and now it tries to form, but still been having atleast 2-3 stools a day since starting that this just doesn't seem normal to me especially when I have the same pains, the same noises in my stocmach the same alien feelings that I used to have with the D I just don't have the D doesn't make since to me

I never thought I'd join a forum where so many girls talk about poop so freely. Pretty awesome.

Also: I would hit the ER. the 27th is a long ways off. I've tried making it through the month with pains and diahrea and still going to work hunched over... it did not pay off. Sometimes when the health care system is taking its sweet time, if you have an HMO, you just gotta shamble into the ER, shout "Emergency!!! ******* fix me!" pay your copay, and let them do their thing. When I finally went to the ER it actually felt kind of nice to just be dealing with it already.

Hey Beth,
Good queston in case others didn't understand. If you have scar tissue it could have caused a narrowing which could be causing the skinny poo. No meds can fix scar tissue. I wouldn't wait till the 27th either if you start having pain. Good luck and hang in there.
