not sure what it is!

Hello my lovely fellow ostomy friends. I have come to pick your vast brains of some knowledge!

While changing Ozzie today I noticed 2 small white outlined, not completely filled in, circles on the outside of him. These were towards the top a bit away from his spout.

Just wondered if anyone had had this before and if anyone had/has any ideas what this could be.

Thanks for reading this and for any replies. :sign0085:

Hope you are all keeping well

They look like the start of ulcers. I had UC though, not Crohns.
I did wonder if I could develop Crohns though. There was some doubt as to whether or not I possibly had Crohns as well but all tests came back negative.
Thanks for replying Samboi, hope you are keeping well.

Hi Shazz,
Just dropping in to say Hi!
Sorry I can't help your situation but hope others will soon be able to do so.
Have just returned from UK---such lovely weather an lovely green trees and spring blooms.I was quite cold when I reached Canada-- our trees are still bare but some with a tiny hint of leaves.
You have had such a bad time and I hope things will soon improve for you.
Feel better soon.
Hugs and best wishes
Trysha

Can you get your Stoma nurse to have a look.
My nurse identified mine and the Humira has cleared them up.

You poor thing. You've already had so much to deal with - it's really the last thing that you need. I hope you can get them sorted.

Mornin Shazzy! Yes, time to ring the stoma nurse I'm afraid. It could be Ozzie is just a bit grumpy, or it could be ulcerations from active disease. Def check it out. You've got too much going on in your body right now! I sure hope you DONT have crohns hun.

Hello Shazz,
I would definitively have them check but on a brighter note, I've had white marks on my ostomy in the past that were not ulceration and only some sort of "scarring/healing" tissues from various trauma I would get. Hopefully it is nothing disease related, you deserve a break!

Just spoken to my stoma nurse and she said she is not worried.
She has booked me in to the clinic for Tuesday if I still want her to look at it.
She thinks it could be a number of things.
Medication.
The whole not being able to swallow and eat solid food.
Also the fact that stumpy is still flaring and not being brought under control.
Output being more acidic.

Will see how the next few days go and take it from there.

On a positive note I have just received my first order of cut to size bags! It was also the first order that I did by myself!
Am now building up a collection of hollister medical adhesive remover. I don't use it. I just pull the bbag off. After all I have been through pulling a bag off of my stomach really isn't going to register on the pain scale!
It is useful stuff to have around the house though. Especially with 2 very active boys who are always having plasters for cuts and bruises. Its good for getting the remainder of the sticky stuff off!
