I get hungry in the evenings. Even right now I am hungry even though I went out for dinner and ate so much I felt really ill. Oh that reminded me, i've not had a BM -.- argh!

Anyway, I get hungry so I eat.. but when I eat I get ill no matter what it is I eat. Some days I eat and then get really ill for the night, other times I don't eat and get hungry pains and feel sick from hunger.

I honestly do not know what to do. I drink tea/milk some times to fill up but doesn't always work. I don't want to be hungry but I don't want to be really ill.

Does anybody else get this and what do you do? Any ideas?

:strawberry:

I was thinking I might go on a bread/toast/cereal diet for a few days starting Monday because plain foods might give my bowels a break. I don't know if it is a good idea or not and mum will do her best to talk me out of it but I don't really know what to do anymore about eating. I have been on lots of diets and things to help the pain and problems but nothing works. There is no winning! Lol

have you looked at complan for sale in tesco?

I remember when i was undiagnosed i would have to live of like three different items of food scrambled eggs boiled eggs white bread and butter tuna mayo sandwiches super noodles and cereal... now im lucky im diagnosed and get good medication and can eat everything....but when that pain gets bad its best to live of the food that dosent cause you lots of pain

vitamins are very important thats why i say look into complan

Nutrients are very important. You should talk to your doctor about some different supplement drinks like Ensure and the like. You shouldn't have to suffer while you're trying to get a diagnosis. Sometimes gut rest is helpful but sometimes its best to do it with the advice/help of your doctor. If you eat nothing but bread, then you aren't helping yourself or hunger in the slightest (its just carbs). You need protein to help you feel fuller and longer. Figure out what proteins you can eat be it milk or meat products that you can tolerate. Try eating smaller meals more often as well. Small meals (try ~6 times a day or every 2 hours) with protein and some carbs (kind of like pretending you're a diabetic) along with a meal/nutrient supplement drink should help out a lot while you're getting a diagnosis.

Diet supplement drinks/powders are tightly controlled prescription wise in the UK so it may be you have to buy something yourself.

You're best off finding foods that won't irritate you (sometimes you can have problems despite doing everything right however!) and eating little and often.
