I've lost twenty pounds in the last thirty-eight days (from 133 to 113). Half of that weight disappeared in the last week. Ever since Monday (three days ago) I've practically been a carnivore.
Diet: I've been eating five to seven boiled eggs per day. On Monday I also had tilapia, meatloaf, mushrooms, and four little things of applesauce. On Tuesday I also had tilapia, three helpings of salmon, chicken, mushrooms, a can of sardines, and three little things of applesauce. Then yesterday I had a can of sardines, half a cup of well-cooked carrots, chicken, mushrooms, and two helpings of salmon on top of my usual six eggs. So far today I've had four eggs, two helpings of salmon, six ounces of meatloaf, a cup and a half of mushrooms, a cup of well-cooked carrots, and chicken.
In my head, it makes no sense to me that eating all this fat and protein still results in weight loss. I'm wondering if this result is from general malabsorption caused by UC/Crohn's, my body just using everything to heal my colon right now, or my not getting some key nutrients from fruit/vegetables necessary to use calories, fats, and proteins in a way that results in a net weight gain. Anyone got any clues?
I'm on IV steroids, too, with the noted side-effect of weight gain, though I know that's really an indirect side-effect.
