This may sound quite bizarre but I need to know if this is normal to Crohns or anything anyone else may know.

I have these weird "patches" of soreness forming over my body. First patch was my stomach, where the lap belt of a seat belt goes. Felt almost like back in Nov. when I had my auto accident. Then my shoulder where the shoulder strap goes started feeling bruised. It's sore as heck to the touch but no bruising is visible. And now this afternoon I noticed a rather large patch on my thigh that is sore.

My GI doc told me that my bone aches and pains, ie my hips and fingers could be a sign but she didn't really say anything about the invisible bruise feeling.

At first I thought I might have hit my shoulder on a door jam or something but its been like this for a week now and no change. I know this sounds ridiculous.

Hey, nothing is out of the question with this disease... Even if no one here ever heard of it... talk it over with your doc., KEEP asking questions about stuff like this

First thing one has to learn is to be their own best advocate for fighting this IBD. I tell my docs EVERYTHING, even IF I FEEL LIKE AN IDIOT, wasting their time with it. Thing of it is, 'THEY' are paid to listen, and they are supposed to be the 'EXPERT' (or at least the professional).. YET is wasn't them who found my LDN treatment... or this website.. So, don't sit back, afraid to ask a weird question... cause the answer just might change your life for the better. Right?

I get really bad shoulder pain with my crohn's. It at my shoulder blade and happens when I eat something I shouldn't. Don't know if your pain is like that, but it definitely could be inflammation from your colon and the pain "refers" to other parts of your body, at least that is my GI's explanation.

Have you eaten foods you shouldn't have lately?

Was the weather changing, like going from a high pressure system to a low pressure system or vice versa. I have so many injuries from playing sports and it seems like I can tell whenever a storm is coming or leaving as my joints that have been injured in the past ache so much. It could be do to the car accident.

I hope you start feeling better

They are definitely getting worse, the soreness. Still no visible bruise, just still feels like a really painful deep bruise on my shoulder and stomach/hips. I don't know what to do. My magic pill test is next Monday. Suppose I will mention it then.

Nope.=( Its very bazaar. I would be more scared if I didn't know they already tested me for everything under the sun and did a MRI and 2 CT scans recently.

well, its' small comfort... but while they were trying to diagnose me, they ran lots of tests... x-rays, ultrasounds, CT-scans, MRI's... plus all the bloodwork one could ever want. Thing of it is, I'm pretty certain there's nothing ELSE wrong except for the IBD. Now, that may be a crazy way of looking at all that, but it works for me.

Not crazy at all. I thought the same thing. "Can't be cancer...they've scanned the crap outta me!"

I get those too. At first I worried about blood clots, but after going to the hospital in a frenzy, they found nothing of the sort. I am going on the assumption that it is related to my anemia.

Well, when I started passing blood clots... Like, it freaked me out. I was used to the bleeding... but there is just something about seeing clots... like its pieces of you. anyway, I was getting nowhere with my docs. they 'assumed' that I simply was mis-calculating the amount of blood I was losing.. and the clots. Obviously I had to be mistaking those for something else... most likely fecal matter... I've told this story before, and I'm not recounting it for 'shock' value... and to the vast majority, the next step I took was just over-reaction, BUT it worked. Got my doctors to take me seriously... may have saved my life.
I took my digital camera, and took pictures. Showed them to the doctors. That stopped ALL suggestion I was mis-calculating or mis-identifying the blood clots.

In my defense, those two symptoms (and I was pre-diagnosis at the time) had all the earmarks of the symptoms my father had before he died from cancer.

Yikes...no nothing like that. I feel it in my hips too, perhaps this is just joint aches or something. She mentioned it was possible. (Doctor)
