Hi Everyone
hope you're keeping well?

Guess what?
I'm back on 30mg of my beloved Pred!
Been feeling a bit rough since I came back from London, did too much I think, my poor little legs didn't know what had hit em!
Over the weekend I started getting twinges and throbbin in LRQ, mmmmmmm
My neuralgia came back with a vengenance Monday too! really bad aches in head, feelin nauseous, LRQ getting stronger, then the explosive D!! oh no!
Just rested Bank Hol Monday, and was naughty, took some Ibuprofen, Oh no!

Went to see GP, crying me leg off!
He felt my tummy, wow it really hurt! He said let me be the judge of this, A&E or Pred? I opted for the Pred.
He reckons by catching it early, it might not escalate into a blockage or narrowing, good shout I reckon?

So I'm on 30mg Pred, and 25mg Amitriptyline for the Arnold's Neuralgia, doc also reckons the Pred will calm the neuralgia inflamm too. Go back to him to review next Friday. Fingers crossed that I can start tapering then.

So today, after a wicked restful sleep, nearly 14 hours! I feel much better!
D has calmed, still have ache in LRQ, but head is easing.

Gotta go back to work tomorrow, training day, then back into full pelt come Monday.

Wish me luck friends!

Joan xxxxxx

Glad you're feeling a bit better, let's hope it continues and you get to taper soon! :D

One break coming up!!! LOL. You just behave, stay calm and look after yourself! The only good thing about Pred is you have tons more energy. 30mg isnt too bad, you will be just fine, and I will be keeping my eyes on you!:shifty-t: Just remember I can always tell Mark if you DONT behave ;)

Oh I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been so well again Joan. Still at least you're getting it all sorted quickly and the pred is working for you.
I am sure tomorrow will be fine. If I can do it then I know you'll have no problems at all ;)
Thinking of you and hoping that you feel much better very soon

(((((((( Joan )))))))) Yes, we do have that love/hate relationship with the Pred don't we? But I think we do have to admit that even pred is better than major pain from blockages and neuralgias.... (and yes, I agree with the doc, it should (maybe) give some relief with the neuralgia as well... bring some of that inflammation down a bit to provide a bit of relief....)

After my "non" surgery a few weeks ago, my GP and I decided maybe a short course of pred would help calm a few things down for me until I can get back to the surgeon's in a couple of weeks and decide what the h3ll they are going to do with me...

You know you are in for a possible doozy when you actually ask for the pred., eh? lol.

But as Pen said, enjoy the energy for a bit (I know I am... holy crap I have gotten more done in the past 2 weeks than I have all year!!), but remember not to overdue it... 'nipping it in the bud' only works if we don't exhaust ourselves trying to do too much while we are feeling good... ;)

Oh, and try not to kill anyone when experiencing " 'roid rage" - as Dusty said to me after being proud of myself for not killing anyone last week - "We need you here, not behind bars!!" LOL!

Thinking of ya and sending warm thoughts......

Hi, hope you get better very soon.
Back to work so soon though? Got to agree with Silvermoon and hope you don't over do it.
Looking after yourself should come before work, but i know sometimes easier said than done.

Take care.

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well Joan...take care of yourself! And 30mg isn't that bad...shouldn't take long for you taper that off at all :)

aw honey i am so sorry to hear you're definitely in a flare :( i was hoping it wouldn't be that news....

thank goodness for Pred, huh? even though it has its' demonic side, it's there when we really need it - and it does what it's supposed to.

wishing you lots and lots of good luck for a quick recovery, and i know you have to get back to work this week, but i'd suggest you tell your boss how things are, and try not to exert yourself too much..

((big hugs)) xx

Oh for F's sake, girlfriend, you cannot catch a break! Not fair!!!! I am so sorry to hear you have to go back on It That Shall Not Be Named. I hope it's a quick run and you get better real fast.

Sending lots of love and (((((hugs))))) your way. xo xo xo - Amy

Okay, lil' sister, you better behave and take care of yourself. Don't want me to have to jump in my canoe and row over the Pond to lecture you, do ya.

Seriously, I hope you get things turned around soon and I'll be sending ya happy thoughts that will heal. Lov ya kid.

Feel better soon! I think another trip to London Town will be in order once this is cleared up, so you can celebrate properly.

Joan,

WOW.... I bet you hate the game shoots and ladders as well :( Thats what this feels like....
Im sorry youre going through a rough time. Sucks that you have to go back on pred. I feel for you! I hope it has some preventative effect for you.
Anyhow, I hope things turn around for you. Please keep us updated.
Wendy

Hi Everyone!

Thank you so much my friends for all the good wishes and love! You really makes things so much bearable, we all need each other in times of discomfort and pain! Like I've said countless times, only a Crohnie knows what it's like to be a Crohnie!

I spent a full day in work, training and class based jobs, long day! Today I'm soooooooooooooooooooooo fatigued! Just resting and sitting in the sun, clinging onto the last dregs of Summer!
LRQ already beginning to settle down, thank God! Have to agree tho, Pred you are a wonder drug! (still don't like you tho) (well, sometimes!)
D has almost gone away! Still got a bit of a sore bum hole tho! Loving Calmo, thanks Pen!
It's the Arnold's Neuralgia that's killing me, it absolutely rags! Good to know I'm not the only one tho, thanks Ed (GoJohnnyGo) for your PM and advice.

Going to watch MUSE tomorrow, can't wait for that, it'll cheer me up no end!

Love you all and thanks again!
xxxxx
