So, I don't think I can hold out much longer regarding my tooth. It's half rotton and its starting to pain me a bit. I have a feeling its about to really start lol.

I'm down to 10mg of Pred, and I just had my infusion last Tues.

Do you think it's safe for dental surgery?

I'll call my doctor on Monday of course. Just curious if any of you have any experience with this.

well i've had a tooth pulled, but not while i've been on meds..

sorry to hear it's bothering you to this extent Kittee, toothache is horrid :( hope you can get it sorted soon.

I would most certainly talk to my doctor first.
I imagine it would depend on what the dentist may give you
and the interaction if any of what you are now taking.

All the best on it...
Nancy

I was afraid of this. I've taken a couple Tylenol hopefully it wont' get too bad. It goes through phases of hurting and not hurting. I'm just scared of a serious infection getting started up.

*hugs* Thanks all for the advice. You guys are lifesavers.

I've just had dental surgey for a tooth transplant while on Prednisone. The dentist said it's OK, but I had to take antibiotics to avoid any infection. Make sure to ask your GI if the antibiotics are fit for us with Crohn's as some cannot be taken . The antibiotic I took was called Amoxcil and my GI said it's OK.

Thanks Mazen. I'm calling my GI today to see what she says. I hope she says "sure go have it done" because this morning my jaw is starting to ache. =(

I had all four wisdom teeth pulled about a month and a half ago, but I stopped all of my meds (Humira) and made sure they were outta my system... I healed up perfectly and without antibiotics.

My doctor said I could go ahead. Just becareful as the antibiotics could give me the runs. LOL
