Hi Everyone. I'm a 49 yr old woman diagnosed with CD 3 wks ago. I was diagnosed with UC at age 21 and lived with pretty mild symptoms up until 6 mths ago. I had ulcers in my mouth and throat when I was younger and went days without eating. Now having bad right- sided pain in my abdomen. Also have sacroiliac joint pain as well. Going for a bone density test tomorrow.

I wish you the very best of luck from one crohnie to another. BTW, I live in the USA. I can see Toronto from my house literally on a clear lit night. God bless you Doberwoman. I can truly relate to what you are going through.

Ask your GI for pain medication until he gets you on proper treatment to put you in remission such as Tylenol 3, Demerol, Darvocet, etc. You have that right as a pt. For gut spasms ask for Bentyl aka Dicyclomine.

Good luck! And I agree with gutless. Try to get some form of pain medication until you get things under control.

Hi DW and welcome!! What kind of meds are you on currently? Is the bone density test a precursor for a possible prescrip to something? I know I've seen bone density brought up a number of times in this forum but I can't remember the specific correlations. I wish you the best!! Let us know how it goes.
