I would like to get a tattoo but I am on Humira. I'm not sure of the risks if there are any..

I would be inclined to think twice about it.
Your immune system is compromised and you are laying a pathway to a potential infection.

I'm not on humira but I'm on remicade and I got a tattoo 3 ( or 4??) years ago and had no problems at all with it. I want another, I just can't decide what to get!

I have three tattoos, really want another, feeling a little braver. I would like to do one about the shoulder, my others are all around my ankles.
I just need to figure out what I want.

I want one on my foot...I'm wondering if it will hurt a lot there. Did your ankle ones hurt?

I have one on my foot and didn't think it hurt that much. Not as much as the one on my back.

I've always been interested in getting one, mainly the reason I haven't is I can't settle on a design I feel strongly enough about to see for the rest of my life!

I'm just curious, with regards to the pain of getting it, do you think being on Humira makes you braver? I mean, I've always been afraid of needles but now with the numerous blood tests and injecting myself with Humira, I think I'd actually be able to stand getting a tattoo! How does it rate?

Sorry if that's a dumb question but I'm really interested!! :)

I had three tattoos before Humira and one after. The one after Humira did hurt less, but I think it had more to do with the location (on my outer thigh) than anything else. But, I would say in general that Crohn's made me braver--I am not going to be afraid of a tattoo.

My ankle tattoos didn't really hurt.

My guy kept stooping and asked me if I was
Ok. I said I have had three kids and have CD.
Define pain!

I got a tattoo today (2hours in the chair), I have been on humira for a while. Follow cleaning and care instructions and you will be fine. It's just lots and lots of tiny holes in skin they need to be clean and able to heal, or infection will break out, humira will limit the body defense against it, thats when you are in trouble. Get a good tattoo artist, it will cleaner for less chance of infection, and you get what you pay for.

Great to read experiences about this. I really want to get an other tattoo. Been on Humira for 5 years now and its holding me back. But I want to get a big one from my sholder to my elbow. Have a desing idea sorted out in my head. Just need someone to produce it. Reading success on taking them is dangerous since now i really REALLy wan tot do it.

Now how to convince my boyfriend tottoos are not that horrible?
