Got back from my Gp appointment today, just got my B12 shot and the results of my knee xray... moderate arthritis. He says not enough to warrant a knee replacement but will be coming down the road..yay, more surgery....:yfaint:

Also mentioned that I have a GI appt on Monday and told him I was on 20mg of Pred (which I forgot to take til later in the day ugh) and that I need him and the Gi to get an appt to see specialist as soon as they can because it is getting worse, or spreading. He says he will talk to him and get it sorted out, because we all know how long it takes in Canada to get an appt with a Specialist.

So I am on 20mg of Pred, 500 cipro, 500 Flagyl and 1500 pentasa and nexium because I know a major flare is heading my way. I am fighting it all I can. So now have to wait til Monday's appt and my hubby will be with me, and we will discuss options or what ever is left. Fingers crossed for a quick specialist!

Will let you guys know of Monday's appt. Wish me luck!!!

Sorry to hear about your knee, Pen. A replacement sounds like no fun but hopefully it will get you out of pain. I hope they at least get you some good meds in the meantime! Good luck at your doctor's appointment on Monday! I'll be thinking of you.

Hey Jett,

Sorry to hear about the knee. I hope and pray the docs can push you through the system so you get to see the specialist ASAP! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

Sending you tons of luck for Monday..........................................

Pen! I'm glad you don't need knee surgery right away while you're trying to get some help for the dang Crohn's. Yay for your GP for offering to help speed up a specialist appt. Now if he doesn't follow through give me his number so I can jog his memory :eek:rder: :D

:hang: Lots of fingers and toes crossed for you!

aw Pen, i wish this flare of yours would abate without further intervention!

i hope the specialist appointment comes through quickly, and he/she can get you some help sorted before too long. let us know how Monday goes. ((hugs)) xx

Hey Pen,

We need to chat soon. I'm sorry to hear about your knee and like Sue says, your flare must come to an end. In fact, I command it to come to an end. :)

Good luck for Monday Pen, I hope you can get some sort of answers and outcome from your appointment to hopefully avoid a massive flare... Im sorry to hear about the possiblity of more surgery for you knees, this disease really takes it toll on the body.. Im feeling the effect of sore joints lately and it aint pretty.
Thinking of you hun and wishing you all the best xxx

Keep looking Pen, I know that damn septic tank is around there somewhere!!

:ylol2:too funny!

Tan, thanks for your support, it means alot.

My scary feeling is I dont know how to describe it. I am not in big pain, but discomfort and it seems to be going all throught the intestines like ....they feel like they want to collaspe? I dunno, how to explain. But mucous and a swelling feeling all through. I know I need a scope. I am Flagyl, cipro (low doses) and 15mg of prednisone, they always work but not this time. Feels scary to eat.

Will post tomorrow afternoon after my appointment. Anyone have this feeling? I know I am weird, and a tough case :eek2:

Hey Pen,

I am still waiting *feet tapping on the floor , arms crossed!* ;). Just have thought by now enough is enough!

I'll be thinking about you tomorrow, Penny, and sending good wishes across the prairies and over to you. (Would you like some BC forest fire smoke to go with it? We've got some to spare.)

Hey Kelly, I have been seeing you guys have had alot, we are out of the boundaries for the smoke, and today was very hot and humid but the wind picked up and blew away the humidity. It is crystal clear here. One good thing about the ozone and particles here were dont get smog, and we are usually in the Very good quality areas. Hope that you you guys are not getting it anymore. We had it here 2 years ago and our windows were shut, thank goodness for AC. Thanks for the wishes, it is weird cause my lower left is worse than my right.

The gi says a spastic colon but 24-7 :faint: hurts.

Boo. Constant pain is No Good. Really really hope you get some relief soon.

Wishing you all the best for today Jett.......

Updated, second and Gi appt.

Well there really isn't much to tell, other than it is not possible for Cancer, so that's one good thing... the other is he says there wasn't much from the scope a year ago and says my colon was absolutely clear and says the sigmoid scope from Feb is clear and biopsy says gastro bug. Ct scans were clear, He is still thinking I have a spastic colon and that is cause pain and irritation. However I wanted to make sure by having a full colonscopy and will scheduled soon.

In the mean time he says I know my body and there is nothing else that works for you or not allergic to. So stay on low dose pred or it is my choice to switch about my medicines until I get the referral to either a local younger Gi or sent to Toronto and he will help push that quicker.

He still remains ademant that Cimzia probably wouldn't work for me and it is not available or thinks it will ever pass through the FDA.

So this means I have to live with pain, spastic colon can be painful no matter what you eat or do.

I hate Prednisone but going to keep on 20mg ot 15mg for a bit for now. I have antispasmotics and painkillers when I need them , which I avoid as much as possible. Figuring the age thing it would of fizzled out. :kello:

Gotta take it day by day. I am not in extreme pain but enough to stop me from doing normal everyday stuff. That's it for now... thank you all for your support along the way. I am just a tough case!!! :ytongue:

Aww Pen, I was hoping it would be better news and you would be closer to getting some relief. Let us know what you decide.

Sorry to hear they couldn't do much of anything for you. Hopefully this flare will end for you soon, living with constant pain is no way to go through life! Wishing you the best and keeping you in my prayers!

Sorry for you Penny!! Hope you get to feeling better until you can get the referral!!

Dang it!!! Those docs better get you a referral right quick or I might just have to take a road trip to give then a piece of my mind!!!!

:hang:

Tough news, Penny. I'm so disappointed for you. Lots of love from the Prairies (and no threats to send you smoke this time).

That sucks Jett. Thinking about you and sending heaps of hugs your way....................................

:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

:hang: buddy,

Dusty.

i didn't read your report as bad news, to be honest Pen. they've more or less ruled out anything serious, which is good.. but i know how frustrating it must be to come out with virtually no help for the symptoms you're suffering from.

i would try and take the antispasmodics as directed, at least, even if you don't take all the painkillers you're supposed to.

also, have you considered any kind of relaxation techniques? as you know, my mum has IBS, and a big part of that is the bowel going into painful spasms... when she gets bad, she does relaxation & massage that i taught her, and it does help.
