The NuvaRing is actually supposed to be slightly more effective, if only because you don't have to worry about the daily timing issues as you do with the pill. It has about the same dose of hormones as the pill (which is less than the patch). It's just a small ring inserted into the vagina for three weeks. If it's placed correctly, you can't feel it at all. Easy as can be. I prefer it over the patch, because the patch did slide around a bit on my skin and look kind of unpleasant. Swimming, long baths, heating pads on the area of the patch, etc. caused it to get loose and slide around more. A couple times it fell off, and that's a bit of a hassle to deal with. However, a couple times over the course of six years doesn't amount up to much at all.
