79% patients in clinical remission on EEN, against 22-66% for anti-TNF.
We know EEN is highly effective at inducing endoscopic remission, it is superior to any medication. That's not news.
But I posted this study because what we really need to know is how effective long-term EEN is at resolving wall thickening, fistula, stenosis, and if it can actually completely reverse lymphatic changes and lead to robust long term remission that looks more like a cure than merely remission.
Endoscopic remission is a very shallow goal, EEN seems capable of resolving deeper tissue inflammation. The goal should be to reverse deep tissue inflammation. People with resolution of mucosal inflammation still tend to have FC levels above baseline of HC.
