I need advice for a good ostomy supply company. I keep running into problems were I can no longer afford my monthly payments to the companies and so they drop me as a client. Need to know who everyone else uses that ships supplies and takes insurance. Running into problems with suppliers only taking Medicare or medicad. I pay for my insurance and no one takes it. I'm a frustrated Crohn's patient.

Sterling Medical is where I buy my ostomy supplies as they are a big company. I love Sterling because their customer service is amazing. They bill your insurance for you, ship UPS to your home so if you live in a state that has snow, you won't have to drive to a surgical supply store during bad weather. Also, they will take the insurance's allowance and bill you according to your insurance plan.

Their number is 1-877-273-6600.

I have talked to the billing dept. when I had questions and they are very friendly and understanding. I have spoken to Paul in customer service and he is awesome.

I called Convatec and explained that where I use to get my supplies, they were charging me for the insurance's allowance and adding it to what was originally owed because they were losing $$ on the supplies.

So they referred me to Sterling which is a bigger company that would take the write offs and abide by the insurance policies.

Hope this helps.

Thank you. Yea I checked out edge park but they wanted almost $400 up front for supplies along with still billing insurance.

Sterling bills your insurance first and then once the adjustments are made by the insurance company, they will bill you afterwards. It makes sense because each insurance plan is different in how much they will pay for ostomy supplies.

They accept Medicare, medicaid, as well as the regular plans like Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Community Blue, Aetna, etc.

Edgepark works the same way. I have Aetna. Once my insurance yearly deductible is met, I don't pay anything out of pocket. Is $400 your yearly household deductible?
