Hi All,
A little about me - I'll keep it as breif as possible
)
36, recently married & 8 months ago went to the doc's to ask for help.
I want to start a family, but the thought of going through pregnancy scares the life out of me as I can't comprehend it with the pains I get from day to day.
As you can see from my title, I have spent over 20yrs without any confirmation of what was really wrong with me, except the odd 'Maybe its IBS' or 'Your just constipated'... and that was from the many hospitals I have been through!!!
The amount of drips I have been on & enema's Iv'e had is no joke!
Endless years I have spent in agony to the point I have been bed ridden for days with the feeling I'm digesting what I can only describe as a 'bowling ball'.
I would say I have spent 80% of my years swollen to the point I could pop, with sharp needle like pains in my lower abdomen & a dull, but constant ache in my lower left side?
Finally I got my colonoscopy & endoscopy here in Australia ( I am formerly of the UK ), which revealed both Ulcerative Colitis & Crohn's.
I'm just glad to finally have a diagnosis.
As for the crohn's, etc, I'm only just finding out what its all about.
I suppose I would like for someone to help me understand a few things, pregnancy, my medication (Salofalk) which has made me feel a million times worse, chinese medicine & a totally gluten free diet (which I'm lead to believe has changed peoples lives & completely got them off medication)?
Is depression a big part of this?:depressed:
I suppose I have been through this for years without any help at all so I'm feeling quite strong - just uneducated I suppose.:ybatty:
Any advice you can give me will be much apreciated, especially on the pregnancy as, at 36 Im no spring chicken!!!:ycool:
