I had a pretty rough time with my Crohnes because due to "Slack-Quacks" passing my problem off as IBS for a number of years. It eventually got so bad i nearly lost my life, as my bowel perforated and i lost 9cm of my small intestine.

Last night i had a small bleed after i passed my poo, the feelings i experienced were terrible i gripped the doorway on the way back to bed and shook uncontrollably with fear!

I havn't much in this world apart from my little home and the sweetest Border Collie dog and my garden. I am only 57 and i am not ready to lose my little world. i know that now i have been diagnosed the chances of the risk of death is greatly reduced, i can't get over the trauma of a few short months ago. i hope i do as it interferes with any recovery, and am so glad i found this forum to share my plight.

I was diagnosed with Crohnes in Feb 2011, ressectioned and am currently on no medication for it.

Welcome

You have certainly come to the right place, whilst I am not in a position to help you (i just wanted to say welcome) there are many on this forum who can sympathise and advise you and please feel free to vent, rant and rave any time.

Welcome Bellyache. Think there is quite a few on here who were given the old IBS runaround. I was for two years so I can understand your frustration. The whole thing about Crohns is traumatic IMO & your feelings of fear are totally understandable. As StarGirrrl says if bright red blood then although a worry to look @ its almost certainly piles or fissure.
Apart from your understandable concerns it sounds like your doing ok after your surgery. Hope this helps ease your concerns.

the blood is bright red and not mixed with the poo. the poo is the normal healthy color. i guess the poor old poo hole has had a rough time as my bowel adjusts to its new shorter version, i know the amount of gas i manage to pass at times totally amazes me, and can be a little embarrasing when others are around. if the bleeding doesn't improve i will definately get it checked out. thanks everyone for your support

Hi bellyache, can I ask, where is your Crohns located? Do you have any rectal disease? I only ask, because just bleeding, bright red and fresh blood and not passing anything other than blood was my 1st UC symptom. Could sit on the loo and just watch it drip. I would say, be safe rather than sorry and get it checked out. May well be a hemmie or fissure as previously stated, but could be rectal inflam. Mine was easily treated with pred supps.
Good luck and hoping you soon feel better.
And x
