I am currently undiagnosed and did the pillcam test on Wednesday -- waiting for results. I had an episode of very severe lower right quadrant about 5 hours into the procedure and the blue light on the receiver changed to orange. I am wondering if it got stuck temporarily - thus, suggesting narrowing. It is not stuck now as GI checked at the end of the procedure and it had reached the colon.

Has anyone else had this happen? I guess I just anxious waiting for the results.

When I had my pillcam, they told me that the light on the belt thing would turn red when the battery had run out on the pillcam or if the receiver for some reason wasn't able to communicate with the pillcam. Sure enough, they said it'd take about 8 hours for the pillcam battery to run out, and almost exactly 8 hours later the little light turned red. I had mine done about 5 years ago and I'm not sure if anything has changed in that time, but this would be my guess - that the receiver temporarily lost contact with the capsule (since your doc said it made it to the colon, I presume that means he was able to check the data on the receiver, which would mean that the battery was still okay).

Good luck with the results!

Thanks Cat - Yes I think the battery was ok - it went back to flashing blue for the rest of the test. Must have just stopped transmitting for some reason. Hopefully the results don't take too long - hate waiting for test results!! This one is the final yes or no on crohns (for a while anyway). GI thinks it is just simmering below the level of detection. Blood tests show inflammation, but he wants ulcers for the diagnosis.
