Pain in head

i get these really sharp and painful shocks in my head/brain sometimes.... normal? anyone experience this?

What medications are you taking? How long has this been going on and what are your other symptoms?

I have on the left side of my head. I always think it is from my neck or jaw. I have tMJ and I do get sharp pains, not a headache. Not on meds that could cause this. I always wondered what caused it too. The last time it kept happenng I took tylenol and it did stop.Maybe it's a form of migraine???

I've been getting these pains since 2006. I had just gotten off lamictal and klonopin. I'm not on anything at the moment. In 2008 I got an MRI of my head and nothing showed on the scan. The pain doesn't last long enough for any kind of meds to effect it. Sometimes it is so bad my head jerks a little bit and I actually say ouch!

Google searching online and found that while there are no official withdrawal symptoms listed, lamictal is believed by many patients to cause headaches and other withdrawal symptoms. You have been off of this medication for a while now. Have you ever discussed with your doctor the short term and long term risks of taking and stopping this type of medication?

But since this a Crohn's site I am assuming you are wondering if this could be related to your Crohn's? What medications are you taking to treat your Crohn's if anything at all?

Out of curiosity are your sinuses ever involved? I used to get headaches that migraine medication couldn't even touch. The only thing that would help was vicodin but all that did was mask the pain. Coincidentally I also had bouts of sinus pressure and infections popping up here and there. None of this stopped for a long while and it didn't even clear up entirely until I started my first crohn's treatment of steroids and asacol.

I don't have crohn's but sometimes l get these too. I've been told its from the muscles in my neck.
