So, long story short - drs think i've got ibs, you've all heard the story before again and again!

Anyway they've tried me on gavascon, buscopan and ibs relief medications, and none helped. They've said that's it then, nothing else they can do for me.. soo .. bye then, guess you're gonna have to wait until you're dx'd then. Brilliant!

So my lovely friends, is there anything I can buy over the counter or in shops that you know do actually work? I can't get anything through prescription because apparently i've had all of there ibs medications (which is a lie, from talking to some of you). It doesn't have to be ibs medications, but anything that can ease the pain. I've got something for the anti-nausea (although it knocks me out), but something more for the pain side of things.

Also, not gonna lie, my bum hurts soooo much. Is there anything to stop the pain? I cried earlier on the toilet because of the pain and soreness hahaha! The toilet paper is fine, but creams or anything..? I don't know, never really looked into this idea..

This week has sucked! Each day is getting worse. Eating less, pooing more. Sleeping less, more tired. :poo:

And on another note - what are you all doing on Valentines day, if anything?

For your bottom, take a trip down the baby aisle in the supermarket! Baby wipes, Vaseline is a good barrier if you have the runs (apply before you go), nappy rash cream if you're sore. You could also try sitz baths (where you sit in an inch of salted water with your knees drawn up), and when you've been to the toilet instead of using paper, hang your bottom over the edge of the bath and use the shower head (unless you actually have a bidet to use!)

As for pain relief, sorry but there isn't anything I can recommend :(

And we're not doing anything for Valentine's day. But in 2 weeks it's our 10th anniversary so we're having a meal out with all our family to celebrate. And to celebrate our engagement!

E45 cream is good as well,
for pain relief I use tiger balm (white) on my stomach which gives it a cooling effect. Also drink peppermint tea and liquorice root. You can take paracetamols, but keep away from NSAIDs

Apart from that im afraid you will just have to man up :(

That's good, I have E45, peppermint tea and paracetamol. I've been nagging mum for tiger balm, we'll eventually get some! And I definately stay away from NSAIDs.

Thank you :p

Oh and i've booked my first counselling session next week :)
