Hey, just wanted to get some opinions here...

So, part of my initial treatment plan is taking a 2g sachet of Pentasa granules every day. However, on my prescription label it states "divided doses". It doesn't actually give a specific pattern for doses, and my GI never said anything about splitting it up over the day. It doesn't seem very practical to do so unless I had some sort of container to keep the rest of the open sachet in. Do you think it matters much how I take this if I haven't been given specific instructions to take x amount of doses y amount of times per day? :/

Hmm. My Pentasa sachets are 1g doses…

Anyway, I think is says 'divided doses' because Pentasa is also prescribed as a 4g a day treatment, splitting it into two doses of 2g.

I would think that, like me, you will be taking 2g once a day.

You could also, check your prescription label to see if it says 'od' (for once a day) or 'bd' (for twice a day).

I would suggest you check back with your GI, but I take 1 x 2g sachet of Pentasa granules every day - and don't have to divide it up. Still, best to check!
