I have had a peristomal Hernia after my colostomy this past April. The surgeon says not to worry but I've had to wear a belt for the last 4 months and it's noticeable. How do you cope. I hope the surgeon fixes it at the same time he reverses the colostomy in a year or two.

Also, if you've already had it repaired. How was the surgery and how long before you were feeling better?

Don't have experience with it but do you use Nu Hope? I heard they are the best for hernias with an ostomy. Hope they can fix and reverse you in one shot.

I've had a few over the years. The surgeon didn't worry about fixing it until it started causing issues. As he said their are only so many timed you can move it.
The repair was to re site the stoma. I also needed a resection so it was my usual recovery time.
