OK, so I've been taking Remicade since January 2009 and now it's not working as well. I take it once a month and it's been running out way too fast. My body just uses it up too quickly. My doctors gave me a choice of either getting Cimzia or Humira. I'm pretty worried about the side affects for both and I'm just not sure which med I should start taking. My GI doctor prefers Cimzia because it's taken less often than Humira but I'm still not sure.
Can somebody tell me if they've used either one and how well they worked out for you?
THANKS!!

I went from Remicade to Humira after Remicade stopped working for me. So far so good with Humira. Definitely more convenient to take than Remicade.

Never taken Cimzia.

Ditto for me.

I went from Remi/infliximab to Humira.

It was really convenient for me.
Once I started using the pen, instead on the needle, it was even easier.

I started off having my jab every 2 weeks for the first 2 years, then once a week for the final year.

It was almost as good as infliximab. Except, I didn't have that down time for the week before my infusion. The Humira was more constant.

Humira worked very well for me, but only for 4 1/2 months, and then it started wearing off. It kicked in very quickly - on day 6 after the loading doses.

Now I am on Remi, and it is working amazingly well. It's been 16 months so far.
I've never been on Cimzia.

Hi there, I was on Remicade, terrible reaction, then Humira stopped at 4-5 months too. Cimzia isnt here but I would take your doctors suggestion. Cimzia was the latest of the 3 created.. Hard to make a choice. Just remember we are all different and react different. I used the syringes, and at home on humira. Good luck let us know what you decide!
